Garden toppers in handmade ceramic, designed to support your plants while becoming part of the overall expression in your garden.

Do you have unstable sticks that fall over, earwigs in your flowers, or simply unattractive solutions in your planting beds? A ceramic garden topper can provide stable support while becoming a natural part of your planting – adding form and volume even before your plants have fully grown.

The problem

Most people growing dahlias or climbing plants run into the same issues:

  • Stakes and supports shift or fall apart
  • Temporary solutions look… temporary
  • Earwigs climb up and damage the flowers

You spend time on your garden. But the details can take away from the whole.

  • Locks your plant supports

Place the topper on top of rebar or garden stakes to hold everything together.

  • Works as an earwig trap

→ Fill with hay or straw
→ Earwigs go inside to rest
→ Remove and empty onto the compost

  • Can help deter deer

    Fill with raw sheep wool
→ the scent helps keep them away.

How to use

Earwigs

Trap

Fill the garden topper with straw, dry grass, or newspaper (slightly damp works well). Place it on a stake or rebar among your plants, for example dahlias, and let it do its work.

Earwigs are least active during the day and look for small, often slightly damp spaces to rest. That’s when you collect them.

Remove the topper and empty it onto the compost. There, they continue doing useful work by breaking down organic material and feeding on other insects.

Deer

Deter

Fill the garden topper with sheep wool. The scent of unwashed wool, containing lanolin, helps keep deer and hares away.

Plant support

Secure your supports

Place three or more stakes or pieces of rebar in your planting bed, around your growing or climbing plant.

Bring the tops together and place the garden topper over the ends – it holds the structure in place.
