About
I am inspired by nature, color, and form.
My name is Ida Ristner, and I am the founder of iDAs FABRiK. Form is central to me; I would probably like to end my process after shaping the object. I visualize forms beforehand and know exactly what I want to create. I'm curious and enjoy working with the experience of my art and creativity. It's like decorating a room; what does the visitor feel when they step into "my" room? Lighting, furniture, colors - everything as a whole. Which flower should complement my work, what food is presented on the plates, which colors interact or contrast. I have a preference for the unexpected, something that stands out or provokes. I work with both functional and sculptural items, often in concepts.
I have a background in art and design, and clay captivated me already in high school. But my focus was on industrial design, and at the Umeå Institute of Design, it became a reality. With a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design and a master's degree in Interaction Design (User Experience Design), I have been working in Stockholm for many years. But the longing for free creativity and feeling the material between my fingers became too strong - now I am wholeheartedly focusing on ceramics and creation in my workshop in Vallentuna.

Right now, I am insanely fascinated by rosehips, their forms, stages through "life," the influence of seasons, and how they look from seeds to black, wrinkled, and mummified. I am attracted to the beautiful delicate, the unpredictable, raw, and the graphics in a cross-section.
Welcome to explore my art at iDAs FABRIK, where I recreate what I see as beautiful and exciting. How can I bring it to life in clay?
